What to Expect in Our Classes?

Eastern Suburbs Physie classes combine dance, exercise and fitness in a fun, welcoming environment. Each session starts with a warm welcome from teachers and members, moves into warmup and conditioning drills suited to all skill levels, then works through dance and exercise routines that build fitness while you enjoy yourself.

What should I wear to class?

At Eastern Suburbs Physie, members wear activewear and go barefoot — no footwear is worn in class or competitions. Juniors wear leggings or shorts with a fitted t-shirt or activewear top, ideally their club t-shirt or singlet. Seniors and ladies wear leggings with a fitted t-shirt or activewear top, ideally their club t-shirt.

Competitions

Competitions at Eastern Suburbs Physie are entirely optional, giving members a fun, low-pressure way to boost confidence and connect with Physie enthusiasts from across Australia in a safe, positive environment.

Interclub Competitions

Eastern Suburbs Physie holds two Interclub competitions each year to help members prepare for Champion Girl and team events. These events are a great way to build confidence, track progress, and gain competition experience — especially for beginners or those returning after a break. While not compulsory, Interclubs are a fun and valuable opportunity to perform in your new performance wear and enjoy competing alongside your friends.

Champion Girl Competitions

Champion Girl is a prestigious individual competition where girls and women showcase their skills and compete for national titles, held at Olympic Park and the Sydney Opera House.

Team Competitions

Team competitions feature squads of 8 members judged on flawless execution of the syllabus, plus the precision, quality and unison of their performance. Along the way, teams build friendship, dedication and collaboration.
