OUR TEACHING TEAM
When Jo’s Mum first dressed her in a leotard at 6 years of age, little did she know that 'Physie' would become part of her life for the next 50 years.
From the age of six, Jo competed at Zone level and was consistently a finalist or placegetter in her age division.
At the age of 15, Jo represented her club in the Seniors National final at the Sydney Opera House. She continued to perform competitively through all the Senior age groups until she started University in Canberra and took a few years break.
After completing a degree in Sports Science and and a diploma in Clinical and Mat Pilates, Jo has been teaching at Eastern Suburbs Physie, since starting the Club in 2016.
Jo’s ladies have achieved some wonderful results both individually and in Team contests which has helped place Eastern Suburbs Ladies in the “Championship” section for team competitions – the highest honour in physie events.
She has an enthusiasm and love for the sport that she hopes to pass on to her club.
Her philosophy for physie is not only to be competitive and get fit but to have fun and enjoy yourself while making many new and lifelong friends.
Eastern Suburbs Physie would like to welcome Jacinta Smith to our teaching team.
Jacinta started in her first physie team at 4 years of age and has been competing successfully in Physical Culture Competitions for the past 10 years.
Jacinta has competed at the highest levels of physie consistently placing in both Junior and Senior National finals.
At age 7 Jacinta began dancing, participating in classes ranging from Ballet, contemporary jazz and musical theatre.
Jacinta is in the senior Dance company at NHSPA and is an accredited RAD ballet teacher.
Physie has always been something that Jacinta has enjoyed due to the many friendships she has formed with physie girls not only from her own club but across Australia too.
Jacinta can’t wait to share her love of this sport with our juniors in 2020. She recently attended the BJP physie camp and is ready to create a fun and rewarding experience for all our juniors.
